The ADCAS commitment to raising industry standards

The ADCAS commitment to raising industry standards

In recent years the construction sector has faced calls to improve competency - both at a company and individual level. In June 2022 the Building Safety Act was introduced as a significant regulatory step to improve safety and, alongside the Fire Safety Act, demands much more from building designers, owners and contractors.

The Act sets out that a new Building Safety Regulator – overseen by the Health & Safety Executive – will enforce a new, more stringent regulatory regime on the safety and performance of high-rise buildings.

As the foremost trade association for ductwork contractors and associated companies supplying products and services to the sector, ADCAS has a responsibility to ensure its members receive clearly defined guidance on how to prove their competency. As such, ADCAS is taking the necessary steps to ensure members will be able to demonstrate that they are working to the highest possible standards.

There are significant changes going on within the industry and further accountability and certification are quite rightly being insisted on - both by clients and government. ADCAS fully embraces these changes and is committed to establishing a robust industry-leading framework designed to demonstrate competence and upskill the industry as a whole.

Further details on this initiative will be made available in due course. If you are interested in becoming an ADCAS member please visit: www.adcas.co.uk/membership/join-adcas
